Ectoplasmic Chief
(Acrylics: 36x24)
Ectoplasmic Chief

One day, I took a break from problems and issues for which I continually seek workable solutions.  I turned on the TV for the distraction and a film was in progress about the U.S. Calvary fighting Indians. In my mind, I tuned out the film and reflected on Native American Indians. I remembered their Ghost Dance belief and remember too reading the book, Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. Custer’s last stand also came to mind and what I had read about that battle day. I began to see the various Chiefs, long gone, of different tribes in my mind. I sketched this painting in my mind and later painted it on canvas. It represents all the ghostly figures of Indian Chiefs long gone.
